Each company has their own history, made of sacrifices, success, changes, and people. The following is our history, it’s the path that allows us to be different today, thanks to the choices of the past!
1981 › ELPA ABRASIVI (abrasives company) IS FOUNDED AS A SOLE PROPRIETORSHIP
1981
The beginning of the adventure
It was in the early 1980s when engineer Elio Panero placed Elpa Abrasivi’s first brick.
Many entrepreneurial challenges will await him, but there will also be many satisfactions thanks to the high professionalism keptthroughout the years.
Therefore, in 1981 Elpa Abrasivi was founded, and today it’s a benchmark in the market of abrasives.
1985
The company becomes the current Elpa Abrasivi srl
In its fourth birthday, Elpa Abrasivi abrasives company becomes an srl Corporation.
1986
Elpa in Europe
After five years from its foundation, in 1986 we reach an important goal: our first European client! It’s the beginning of a strong development in the exports.
1989
Conquering the world
Europe wasn’t enough, so in 1989 our business reaches global dimensions, as we gain our first client outside the “Old Continent”.
1995
Revolution in the production
The mid 1990s are very important for our production because it improves vastly. In 1995 we insert the first automated machine in our productive process, which will allow us to:
- Speed up our production
- Increase production
- Increase the quality of our products
2001
The move
In 2001, to celebrate our first 20 years, we decided it was time for a change, so we decided to expand in order to better satisfy our customers’ requests.
Remaining faithful to our hometown in Narzole, from Via Giolitti we moved to Frazione Lucchi (our current headquarters). This has allowed us to expand production and to greatly improve every single business process, becoming therefore a more structured company.
2010
Photovoltaic system installation
In January of 2010, our photovoltaic system is ready and installed on the roof of our structure. We have 724 panels that cover the surface of 3,000sqm and deliver over 180,000kw/h annually. Almost all of the energy requirements are therefore produced in an Eco sustainable way.
Every year:
- We eliminate 94,000kg of CO2 in the atmosphere
- We save the equivalent of 39 tons of oil
2014
The robot
We are proud to say that from 2014, our establishment is completely robotized, allowing us to guarantee:
- Consistent quality
- Constant production
- Large volumes of production
2016
Up, up, and away!
After 35 years, we believe that we are at the beginning of a new long and positive cycle, always going up to improve ourselves.
We decided to work with our company’s marketing by putting up our new website and by planning new strategies with the objective of developing even more, while always maintaining the trait that has always characterized us: CORRECTNESS, which has always allowed us to hold an excellent reputation on the market.
2017
ISO 9001:2015 Certification
We begin 2017 with great news: the important certification institute Bureau Veritas gives us the certification of ISO 9001:2015 for the scope of Design and Production of Abrasive Products.
The experience accumulated over years of work led us to achieve this important goal, for us a source of great pride and for our customers a further guarantee of our way of producing meticulous manner.
2020
Beta Utensili S.p.A. acquires Elpa Abrasivi
Beta Utensili S.p.A., through Abra Beta S.p.A., has finalized the acquisition of 100% ownership of Elpa Abrasivi S.r.l., an outstanding benchmark in the flap discs market.
The acquisition of Elpa Abrasivi allows Abra Beta to complete its production of bonded abrasives with high quality coated abrasives. The productive knowledge of the two companies also allows Beta to enter into the abrasives market with authority.
The new acquisition is a sign of the ongoing growth of Beta Group, which includes BM S.p.A (elements, systems and accessories used in electrical connection), Abra Beta S.p.A. (solid discs and mounted points), 3D Beta S.r.l. (high-end furnishings) and VGF S.r.l. (high-end powders).
